The County Flood Control District provides accurate and consistent rainfall, stage, and other data on a real time basis in a useful form to County officials, the National Weather Service (NWS), and the public to facilitate decision making before, during, and after storm events to reduce the risk of property damage, injuries, and loss of life.
The goal of the Phase II effort is to:
a.Develop a complete, accurate, and detailed depiction of the existing system architect including, but not limited to the base stations, repeaters, radio frequencies, data flow, data verification, and data storage.
b.Make specific recommendations for improving the data flow and accuracy from the sensors to the primary users in the near term. (Long term and more costly changes will be considered in future phases.)
c.Perform the near term actions to improve the data flow and accuracy in collaboration with the Flood ALERT staff.
