It is the goal of this Request for Proposal to identify a vendor(s) and execute a contract to develop an integrated corporations information system for the Division of Corporations.
The Division of Corporations is a national leader in promoting electronic filings. Online franchise tax filings increased from 49,000 in 2003 to 69,000 in 2004. In addition, online UCC filings increased from 26,000 in 2003 to over 52,000 in 2004. The divisions web applications also provide interactive name reservation/name availability, entity information and status.
The existing systems were once considered state of the art. However, newer technology is now available that
would eliminate some of its shortcomings. The Division of Corporations requires a new integrated system that
uses the latest technology, databases, and application tools. Effective technology can help the division maintain
a competitive edge over other states competing for the same clients and revenue, improve productivity, and
provide better customer service and satisfaction.
It is the intent of the Division of Corporations to contract for the development of a new, fully integrated system, encompassing all the existing capabilities of the current DCIS, Imaging/Workflow and Web applications into one cohesive system.
