This Request for Proposal (RFP) is being issued to establish a contract with a qualified Offerors who will provide a Reconfigurable Radar Cross Section Facility to the Institute. This will be used in conjunction with hardware supplied by Georgia to implement a radar cross section (RCS) characterization facility.
This facility will be used in conjunction with hardware supplied by the Institute to implement a radar cross section (RCS) characterization facility. The primary application for the facility is RCS characterization above 2GHz. However, to accommodate the wide range of research conducted at the Institute, two modes of operation are desired for this facility: compact range and direct illumination (DI). Flexibility in the design and utilization of the proposed range will be a primary evaluation factor. In the DI mode, transmit and receive antennas (supplied by the Institute) will be used to directly illuminate the target. An absorber baffle will be required to mask the reflector during DI operation. It is expected that this configuration will allow characterization of RCS below 2GHz.
