Event: Real Time Parts Tracking Industry Day

Sponsor: Aviation Logistics Center (ALC) Business Operations Division (BOD)

Background:
The United States Coast Guard (USCG), ALC is conducting market research to determine feasibility of receiving commercial contractor-furnished resources for the procurement of real time parts tracking. The proposed system must be able to wirelessly transmit parts movement and locations to a centralized Windows 10 compatible web based platform that will be accessible from 40 users daily. The system may transmit information via Wi-Fi or cellular based. A barcode scanner system is preferred as opposed to Radio Frequency Identification Device (RFID) tags since the current parts inventory system utilizes barcoding.

To facilitate planning, ALC will host an Industry Day, July 17, 2019. The location will be USCG, ALC, Heavy Maintenance Facility, Training Room 3. The Industry Day will consist of a review of the USCG's minimum requirements, question and answer period, and a tour of the facility. The tour is through an industrial area. The USCG will be requesting a Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) be submitted by July 31, 2019.

The event is part of ALC's market research that will be used to identify potential solutions to ultimately determine an optimal sourcing strategy. This is NOT a request for proposals or quotes and in no way obligates the Government to award any contract. After the review of the ROMs, and if the USCG still plans to proceed with the acquisition, a solicitation announcement will be published on the Federal Business Opportunity website. Additionally, this market research is only for parts tracking. Contractors must register to attend this event. Interested parties shall submit the attached registration questionnaire no later than July 3, 2019. Base access will not be granted without this information. Directions to USCG Base Elizabeth City can be found at http://www.uscg.mil/alc/directions. This notice is not a solicitation

The applicable North American Industrial Classification Code (NAICS) is 488190 and the small business is $32.5M. Responses are due no later than July 3, 2019 and may be submitted via email to Christy.H.McKethan@uscg.mil. Questions concerning this Industry Day notification may be directed to Christy McKethan at Christy.H.McKethan@uscg.mil. Respondents are advised that the USCG will not pay for any information or administrative cost incurred in response to this Industry Day notification including participation.
