Radio Tower Engineer Services
The Department currently maintains seventy six radio towers in the statewide 800 MHz radio communications system. In order to support other communication initiatives in the state, the Department wishes to secure the on-call professional services of a firm to evaluate and analyze as needed the tower loading characteristics of the existing structures as it pertains to antenna additions requested by different organizations, governmental entities, and/or private businesses. In addition to the loading determination the contractor will be responsible for the review, analysis and reporting relative to intermod/interference impacts relative to the same requests.
Services will be performed on-call throughout the contract period on an as-needed basis. The timely ability of a firm to mobilize sufficient resources to analyze and respond timely will be an important consideration.
As a requirement for this contract the successful bidder must include the services of a licensed professional engineer registered in the State of Kansas to perform engineering analysis and certify findings.
