RFQ for VisualAge Migration Services
The Department of Children and Families has issued this Request for Quotes from authorized vendors on Term Contract 973-561-06-1, Information Technology Consulting Services, to provide a quote for a project to migrate VisualAge programs for the Women, Infant and Children (WIC) program office from VisualAge and Ratioal Clearcase code to the Rational Business Developer/Enterprise Generator Language (RBD/EGL) platform. DCF has already acquired licenses for RDB/EGL for its own use in maintaining the code once converted. The WIC system resides on an IBM mainframe (IBM eServer z/890, model 2086-A04, capacity setting 320) using CICS 3.1, COBOL and interfacing with DB2 8.1 (currently on compatibility mode) and a few VSAM files. The tool currently used to develop the online WIC system is VisualAge for Java Enterprise edition 4.0/VisualAge Generator 4.5. This product is used to generate COBOL/CICS applications. The online system consists of 315 VisualAge applications and there are 67 VisualAge batch applications. The source control software currently in use is Rational Clearcase 3.0. Both VisualAge and Rational Clearcase are either no longer in support from IBM or will going out of support soon.
