RFQ for Architecural Services for Construction of a New Rowan County Satellite Jail Facility
The Satellite Jail Facility will entail new construction on property within 2-3 miles of the Justice Center in Downtown Salisbury, North Carolina. The Project will include the following: bed space for 160 inmates, office space, video visitation, first appearance capabilities, storage, reception area, parking, walkways, grading and site work. Soft costs will include design services, surveying, soil testing, security cameras, furniture, wiring and signage. Costs associated with the Project are estimated to be $6,000,000. Appropriations have been made in the Countys fiscal year 2009 budget for the design of this Project. It is the intention of the Board of Commissioners to select an architect and have them design and prepare specifications for the construction of the Project.
