RFP for Website Creation and Redesign
The Township is requesting proposals for the creation and redesign of its municipal website.
The Township is expecting a website including, but not limited to, the
following:
Improved information architecture.
Simplified design, clear layout and inviting.
Increased accessibility and compliance with Accessibility for Ontarians with
Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) requirements.
Ability to capitalize on social media opportunities.
Minimum of 1-year phone based support provided by the proponent and to be
used on a per-need basis.
The purpose of the municipal website is:
To allow residents to access information on the Township.
To inform potential residents and visitors on the amenities within the Township.
To provide general information on recreational opportunities and programming
To provide access to Council & Committee agendas, minutes and schedules
The purpose of the focus on economic development is:
To attract potential investors to the Township
To assist existing and potential business owners through planning and permit
processes
To inform existing and potential business owners of funding opportunities
To provide easily accessible and searchable information regarding available land
and buildings
To provide a searchable business directory
To provide a fully interactive website which will provide a wealth of information to
existing and potential business owners
The provision and maintenance of the website content will be the responsibility of
Township staff. The proponent will ensure that such maintenance of the website can be
done by Township staff, at no additional cost, without requiring additional software. The
visual design, navigational and content structure will be developed by the proponent in
conjunction with stakeholders.
The Township reserves the right to make final decisions on the layout, design and
functionality or any revisions thereof of the website.
