Education Development Center, Inc. (EDC) invites your institution to submit a proposal to design and implement a study tour which will provide 15 participants from Pakistan the opportunity to observe and discuss a variety of credit bearing, teacher education models that incorporate technology or distance education. The two-week study tour will be part of USAID's Teacher Education Project in Pakistan, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and will take place in the late summer of 2013.

The visit will enable those individuals involved in introducing teacher professional development programs across universities in Pakistan to better understand different models and types of teacher training structures, including distance education, and to develop strategies for employing teacher professional development approaches in their work. By visiting teacher education institutions and the schools they work within the United States, participants will be able to observe and discuss good practice, and meet with peer professionals, content specialists, faculty, and administrators who can give their perspectives on credit-bearing teacher professional development programs, including how they are planned, executed, scaled up, and managed. Case studies and practices shared by the offeror should take into account the realities and constraints of the Pakistani context, and include practices undertaken in similar country contexts.
