RFP Municipal River Crossings Alternatives Study
The City is requesting proposals to provide transportation planning and public outreach services for proposed new bridge crossing(s) of the Sacramento River, connecting the two cities. The Sacramento River Crossing(s) Alternatives Study will consist of engaging interested parties in discussion about what the purpose would be of one or more new crossings and what the need for them would be. Once the purpose and need of crossing(s) has been developed, alternatives will be developed and evaluated which may include various bridge cross section types (number of vehicle lanes, type of bicycle and pedestrian access, transit accommodation), various locations for crossing, number of river crossings, etc. Planning level traffic analysis will be performed to test the alternatives identified to help inform the planning process. The alternatives and analysis will be shared and discussed with the public. Proposals due: 4:30 pm, Friday, September 25, 2009. No pre-proposal meeting is planned or scheduled.
