The Scattered Sites Revitalization project represents a comprehensive redevelopment effort that
will physically transform a 24-unit Scattered Sites development and enhance the quality of life of
its residents.
The Housing Authority currently has over 90 Scattered Sites that no longer serve their purpose as
safe, decent housing for low-income families. The Housing Authority will use funding from the
U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and a 2008 low-income housing
tax credit allocation of $482,059 to revitalize 24 of these Scattered Sites units. The Housing
Authority will build 24 new single family homes as public housing rental units with the option
for future sale to the owners through the Housing Authority's HUD-approved Section 32
homeownership program. The Housing Authority will form a Limited Liability Company to own
the 24 Scattered Sites.
The Housing Authority will be the developer for the entire project. Construction will begin in
2008, and the proposed completion of construction is July 2010.
To complement the physical transformation of the development, the Housing Authority has
crafted a program of comprehensive on site community and supportive services aimed at
improving the quality of life of Scattered Sites residents.
