Veterans Health Affairs, Network Contracting Office 4, is issuing this request for information/sources sought notice in order to identify small businesses, and specifically, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) or Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB) sources that have the resources and capabilities to provide Recreation Therapist Assistant services for the Wilmington, DE VA Medical Center.
Description of Work
Contractor is to provide temporary staffing of a Recreation Therapy Assistant at the Wilmington, DE VA Medical Center for up to twelve (12) hours per week for up to twelve (12) months. The Contractor candidate will be capable of leading activities such as art, music, games, current event discussions and assist with special events. The candidate will adapt activities to allow/enable every patient to participate and have successful outcomes and document patient participation using attendance sheets. The candidate shall attend staff meetings and coordinate with staff the need for supplies as identified.
Technical Requirements
Contractor candidate must possess a Bachelor s Degree or higher in one of the following fields: Recreation Therapy, Art Therapy, Music Therapy or Dance/Movement Therapy. Certification in one of the fields is preferred.
Candidate must have experience working with a disabled population having complex medical, physical, psychological and social challenges and must be able to adapt activities for various disabilities. Candidate shall have knowledge of various modalities to include: music, art, movement, creative writing, reminiscence therapy, etc. Candidate must be efficient and flexible and work with a high degree of independence.

NCO 4 is seeking responses from small businesses, particularly service disabled veteran owned (SDVOSB) and veteran owned (VOSB), who are interested in this procurement and consider themselves to have the resources and capabilities necessary to provide these services. This is in accordance with the Supreme Court decision known as The Rule of Two . Please respond with:
1. Business name, business type, socio-economic status (e.g., SDVOSB or VOSB), and person of contact (including telephone number & email address). The VA will verify socio-economic status via VetBiz Registry.
