S&TCD is requesting information on an NSA Type 1 certifiable, reprogrammable logic Single Chip Cryptographic engine which includes anti-tamper and security boundary technology (both INFOSEC functions and Crypto engine) within the chip design.
The emphasis of the RESCUE development is to mitigate platform development risk by establishing a flexible and scalable cryptographic capability for which the long lead time development and certification efforts are already complete. The emphasis is not to develop a particular quote mark one size fits all quote mark cryptographic product, but rather a capability that can be reused, scaled, and/or repackaged to satisfy the particular constraints of the different platform developments. The RESCUE should be capable of being used/embedded into a wide variety of equipment requiring a small form factor INFOSEC and crypto engine capability (e.g., Hand Held radios, Unmanned Sensors, Key Load Devices such as SKL, etc.). The various platforms may require different INFOSEC architectures, and this specific embedment should only require modifications outside the cryptographic engine portion of the design (leaving the crypto portion unmodified), so that only minimal NSA delta-certification efforts are required.
