This pre-solicitation modification is to inform potential offerors that the Upstate New York VA Medical Center in Batavia, NY will be posting an Invitation for Bid (IFB) #VA242-17-B-0224 on or about February 17, 2017 to provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and supervision necessary for the remove and or cut and cap dead legs in the domestic cold and hot water piping in Building one (1) and (5). The piping is presumed to have asbestos insulation and therefore some areas will require abatement as part of this project. Design drawings and specifications will be provided in the IFB. Construction includes removing dead legs, cut and cap in accordance with drawings that will be provided in the IFB, abate and reinsulate piping and firestop all penetrations through the floor.
It has been determined that there are qualified firms in accordance with Public Law 109-461 that are capable of performing under NAICS Code 238220, "COMMERCIAL AND INSTITUTIONAL BUILDING CONSTRUCTION", with a size standard of $15.0M. Therefore this procurement is 100% set-aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses. The estimated magnitude of the construction project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Information regarding a site visit will be stated in the Solicitation. A 20% Bid Bond will be required to respond to this IFB once released. Performance and Payment bonds will be required.
OBTAINING SOLICITATION MATERIAL
Solicitation materials consisting of the Information for Bid Details, Specifications and Drawings will be available on http://www.fedbizopps.gov in electronic format only. These should be available on or about February 17, 2017. All interested parties (subs & primes) should register at http://www.fedbizopps.gov as an "Interested Vendor" so that others will know of your interest in participating in this procurement. A Bidder's mailing list, list of interested parties and/or list of attendees at site visits WILL NOT be prepared nor distributed by the Contracting Officer. SOLICITATION AMENDMENTS: Amendments to the solicitation will be posted at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Paper copies of the amendments will NOT be individually mailed. By registering to "Add to Watch List"; you will be notified by of any new amendments that have been issued and posted. No other notification of amendments will be provided. Offerors are reminded that they are responsible for obtaining and acknowledging all amendments to this solicitation prior to the time for receipt of offers as prescribed by FAR 52.215-1 Instructions to Offerors - Competitive Acquisition.
