REGIONAL ELECTRONIC WASTE
While electronic waste (E-Waste) constitutes a relatively small percentage of the residential
waste stream, the potential damage to our region from improper disposal is significant. Many
local governments in the H-GAC region have recognized the need for safe disposal of E-Waste
in their area, and require the services of a qualified contractor to assist them in their E-Waste
efforts. The purpose of this request for proposals is to identify the contractor best suited to assist
local governments in the H-GAC region with the collection, transportation and disposal of EWaste.
The selected contractor will work with local governments directly, as authorized by
interlocal agreements between H-GAC and member local governments. H-GAC is seeking to
enter into a two-year contract with the option to extend in one-year intervals up to a total of five
years beginning April 1, 2010.
