QUANTUM CASCADE LASER SYSTEM
NASA/GSFC has a requirement for one (1) External Cavity Quantum Cascade Laser (QCL) will operate CW from over extended Mode Hop Free (MHF) regions between 1233 to 1326 cm region with >20 mW of poer output throughout. The MHF region must include 1320 cm (7.58). And single mode linewidth < 5 MHZ measured on 100 msec time scale.
NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Daylight Solutions Inc. Authority is FAR 13.106B(1) Only one source reasonably available.
The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.
Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 12:30 p.m. local time on July 14, 2014. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
