The Medicine Bow-Routt NF has a requirement for hauling and dumping  whole trees (fir and spruce) to be used for stream bank stabilization in accordance with the abbreviated statement of work below and Attachment 1 - SOW. We estimate the value of this procurement at less than $25K.  There is no incumbent contractor or existing similar contracts.


Abbreviated Statement of Work:

This project will require hauling 160 whole fir/spruce trees (30 to 50 feet in height), some of which will have root wads attached, from NFSRs 42 & 49 near Slater Creek to First Creek along Routt County Road 80 in California Park. An excavator with thumb, operated by a Forest Service crew will load the trees into the hauling vehicle(s); however, there will be no equipment to help unload. Therefore, a side-dump trailer is strongly recommended. There is plenty of room at the dump site for unloading the trees and Forest Service personel will be nearby with additional equipment to move them around or stack them if necessary.  However, they will not be available to unload your truck.   Hauling needs  to occur beginning the last full week in July (7/22/2019) and be completed by August 2. The period of performance is not negotiable since this is a coordinated effort with other nearby work going on at the same time.

7. Award Basis - Low Price Technically Acceptable with a check of your past performance/references.
