Purchase and Delivery of Five (5) Rugged Field Computers
The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife's Newport Office is currently requesting
quotes for the purchase of Five (5) Rugged Field Computers.

Rugged field computers will be used by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife Marine
Resources Program, Shellfish Project, to collect data in the field under a variety of
environmental conditions. The Shellfish Project is seeking to purchase five (5) field
computers. Interview data from sport and commercial shellfish harvesters will be recorded
directly on to the field computers. Biological data on crabs, clams, urchins and other
shellfish will be recorded directly or with peripheral devices such as digital calipers
and scales. Shellfish habitat assessment and GPS data will also be collected. The field
computers must function in rainy, sunny, freezing, and/or muddy conditions, as experienced
on intertidal mudflats and on small boats. The following minimum features must apply:
1. IP-67 weatherproof rating (waterproof and dustproof)
2. Rugged (able to withstand a 4 ft drop and vibration resistant)
3. Windows Mobile 6 OS or greater
4. 806 MHz processor
5. 1 GB Flash memory
6. integrated GPS and Bluetooth
7. USB host capabilities
8. Numeric style keyboard
9. Sunlight readable touchscreen
10. Field-swappable battery with 15 hour life
