Public radio and public television serve millions of listeners and viewers each day with distinctive, compelling content designed to meet community needs for news and information, entertainment and enrichment. In the wake of new distribution platforms, the public broadcasting system is able to reach the American public in ways not before possible. In order to help stations seize these new opportunities, the Corporation for Pubic Broadcasting has established a Public Media Innovation grant program (PMI) to support small-scale experimentation. Funding will take place in two (2) grant rounds which together will distribute as much as $225,000. Grants will range between $5000 and $20,000. This announcement is for Round One. Round One will accept proposals from May 18, 2007 to June 18, 2007.
