Public Library Consulting Services
The Alameda Free Library, a department of the City of Alameda, seeks to hire a
consultant to work with the Library Board, Library staff, the public served by the Library,
and other city staff to evaluate the adequacy of the two neighborhood library facilities
(branch libraries) in light of the opening of a new main library, the area shift in
demographics, city economic growth, the revitalization of Alameda Point properties and
surrounding developments, technology changes, and trends in the development of
public library service. The consultant would be responsible to provide a written
recommendation for immediate improvements to the two neighborhood libraries and
also a 10 to 15 year strategic plan for library services in the City of Alameda.
