Promotional Testing for Fire Department
The City Fire Department is soliciting Request for Proposals (RFP’s) from qualified vendors to provide Promotion Testing for the rank of Lieutenant and Captain.
The Fire Department serves a resident population of over 366,000 people. It is a diverse department comprised of 429 uniformed and 9 civilian members serving within the Department’s two divisions. There are 22 Fire Stations that cover 130 square miles. The positions of Firefighter, Fire Lieutenant, and Fire Captain are represented by the International Association of Firefighters, Local #135.
Qualified vendors responding to this Request for Proposal should demonstrate the ability to provide and the cost associated with the following:
• A comprehensive review of the current promotional process for Fire Captains and Fire Lieutenant with recommendations based on recognized best practices.
• A comprehensive job analysis to identify and document the critical knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to succeed as a Fire Captain. The analysis would be incorporated into the Fire Captain promotion process.
• A comprehensive job analysis to identify and document the critical knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to succeed as a Fire Lieutenant. The analysis would be incorporated into the Fire Lieutenant promotion process.
