No telephone requests will be accepted. This contract action is to extend the period of performance through 31 December 2015, an additional 1 year of effort to avoid a work stoppage due to gaps in service and or contract coverage. The purpose of this effort is for the contractor to continue providing program support/engineering services for the Mast Mounted Sight Subsystem and Peculiar Ground Support Equipment in support of the Kiowa Warrior, OH-58 weapon system currently being procured under contract W58RGZ-09-D-0001. The period of performance for this contract effort will be 1 January 2015 - 31 December 2015. The contractor shall conduct depot level repair operations at various remote sites called forward repair activities which include the following: Fort Bragg, NC; Fort Campbell, KY; plus Afghanistan and Korea (Pyoengtaek (Camp Humphries)) deployments. Logistics support technicians support and forward repair activities support will be required in support of this extension. The authority cited is 10 United States Code (USC) 2304(c)(1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii) entitled, quote mark Only One Responsible Source, and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. quote mark The proposed extension is for services which cannot be obtained through full and open competition because only one responsible source is cable of satisfying the Agency's requirements, FAR 6.302-1. The restricted source is DRS Optronics, Inc., Melbourne, Florida, Contractor and Government Entity (CAGE) Code: 32865, the original equipment manufacturer, and the only known source capable of performing this work in the timeframe required to satisfy the Army's minimum needs. This synopsis is provided for informational purposes and is not to be considered a request for proposal. All offerors must meet prequalification requirements in order to be eligible for award. Firms that recognize and can provide the required services described above are encouraged to identify themselves. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which shall be considered by the Agency. Source approval must be obtained prior to being considered for contract award. Approvals are made on an individual part number basis for a specific manufacturing location (CAGE). Firms are encouraged to seek source approval in order to compete for future solicitations by following the SAR submission guidance provided on the website http://amcomdmz.redstone.army.mil/casl_cmo/casldba.casl_cmo_samsar.
