ProCustom modified X500 laptop
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ intends to negotiate on a non-competitive basis with Mid-Atlantic Computer Services, Inc. doing business as The ProCustom Group (Cage: 6SNA2) for the procurement of upgrade services to two ProCustom computers from P/N 504020-001 to P/N 504020-002 which are modified COTs GETAC X500 computers, used to support the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye Aircraft program. ProCustom Group is the only company that GETAC, Inc. authorizes to manufacture and modify laptops without voiding warranty for Government use.
The Government intends to procure the above items under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (c) (1), FAR 6.302-1. The ProCustom Group is the only authorized company by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) to manufacture or modify P/N 504020-001 for Government use. The modified GETAC X500 are essential to meet the E-2D's interface requirements. The designs are proprietary to ProCustom Group and the OEM so ProCustom Group is the only vendor that can produce the units without disclosure of technical data. This is not a request for competitive proposals. However, responsible sources are encouraged to submit a response to this synopsis in writing that contains information that may be used by the Government to determine whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition based upon response(s) to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
