Printers
The Branch of Print, Mail and Records Management (BPMRM) has an in-house print shop that provides printing and binding services. The print shop currently consists of three large digital printers: one high-speed black and white digital printer, one high-speed, high volume color printer and one slightly smaller high-speed, lower volume backup color printer. Due to the nature of the jobs that are submitted, which range from press releases to conference handouts, it is necessary that the print shop have fast and reliable machines. The workflow in the shop allows jobs to be sent between machines as needed to maximize efficiency. BPMRM is considering replacements for the following equipment:
1. High-speed black and white digital printer with a stacker and stapler
2. Back up production color digital printer and square-fold booklet maker
Both would need individual print servers and applicable software.
For purposes of obtaining the best value on behalf of the Federal Government in this acquisition, an evaluation of industry availability will be conducted through the use of this Request for Information (RFI).
