STOCK NUMBER (NSN): 1560-01-161-4334GC
PART NUMBER (PN):  70209-27003-044
NOMENCLATURE: STABILATOR ACTUATOR FITTING ASSEMBLY

The Stabilator Actuator Fitting Assembly is a flight safety critical part used in the flight control system of the H-60 Helicopter. This Critical Safety Item assembly consists of complex precision machined parts assembled per Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) drawing specifications to provide a flight control surface that changes the attitude of the aircraft when moved by the pilot. This assembly has special characteristics which if not conforming to the design of the part could cause catastrophic failure pointing the aircraft directly at the ground. Failure of this item could result in the loss of aircraft and lives of the crew. The Actuator attachment stabilator fitting assembly has several critical characteristics defined by drawing 70209-27003 as follows:

Verification of bonding per note 11 and 22.

Critical dimensions/cross sectional area, per note 23.

Nicks, Dents, scratches, and tool or scuff marks, per note 24. Part is to be weighed, per Part List note

The above information does not in any way relax any other requirement stated in the drawing. Engineering concurs that this is still applicable. Component failures in this location will dramatically increase the risk of an aircraft mishap due to loss of control of the aircraft. Consistent manufacturing

processes are needed to ensure that the integrity of the stabilator assembly and fittings is maintained and will allow for proper operation of the complete assembly upon installation.
