Preamplifiers & Adaptors for the NSWCCD.
The Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) has a requirement for the procurement of preamplifiers (charge amplifiers) with adapter input cables to conduct acoustic research and development measurements. The NAICS Code is 334220 and the size standard is 750 employees.
The proposed purchase order is being solicited on a sole-source basis to Bruel and Kjaer (B&K) of Norcross, GA. The proposed action is for the procurement of supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source pursuant to FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii). The basis for restricting competition is for the following reasons: several tests were conducted to verify signal conditioning specifications using charge amplifiers where low and high frequency conditioning can be adjusted on "the fly" along with transducer sensitivity. The B&K Model 2663 allow the high and low pass filtering to be set with laboratory soldered resistors along with transducer sensitivity. The NSWCCD intends to award a firm, fixed-price purchase order to B&K using Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
Any firms believing that they can provide the referenced equipment on a Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) basis must submit a written response within 15 days of this posting.
This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. However, all responses received by the closing date will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
