Pre-qualification -- cable splice reconstruction work
The Contractor is required to obtain all necessary permits for on street working, excavate freeze pits at the splice locations, install freezes on the five cables on either side of the manholes, remove the splice sleeves, take paper samples from the splice papers and cable insulation, re-insulate and resleeve each of the cable splices, backfill and reinstate the excavated freeze pit areas and make good any damage to the work areas caused by the work, and return the cables to service.
The Contractor will be expected to follow the Owners Safety and Environmental policies at all times. The work sites are in residential areas and care should be taken to ensure that noise is not excessive and will not result in objections from residents relating to the City noise bylaw.
