Non-Profit

The Education Development Center (EDC) manages the USAID-funded project in the D. R. Congo called Package for Improving Education Quality (PIEQ). In French, it is known as Projet pour l'Amlioration de la Qualit de l'Education (PAQUED).

PIEQ has launched a series of summer training institutes for primary school teachers teaching in the DRC. The series began last year (2011) with a French language institute, and will continue this year (2012) with a Math institute. The objective of these teacher-training institutes is to improve teachers' content knowledge in French language and Mathematics respectively. The project is testing participants to measure knowledge acquisition (pre- and post-test) as a result of each 10-day institute. As described in the attached RFP, EDC is seeking a contractor to implement the pre- and post-testing for the Math institute. The contractor will work closely with PIEQ staff in Kinshasa to develop and validate the instrument, design the protocols for sampling and test administration, administer the test, analyze the results and prepare a Report. The PIEQ Math institute is scheduled for August 2012. Preliminary activities for the selected contractor would begin in early March 2012.
