The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to issue a sole source, firm fixed price contract to University of Washington, Northwest Lipid Metabolism and Diabetes Research laboratories, 401 Queen Anne Ave., N, Seattle, WA 98019, to measure kidney markers in pristine serum samples and provide CDC with the results and quality controls for the measurements. The contractor will measure serum levels of klotho alpha in samples, submit electronic data files to CDC with all of the results from the measurements and internal quality controls, and analyze the data and disseminate the findings through scientific publications. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source will satisfy the Agency's requirements because this is the only service that can meet the requirements. No solicitation is being issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes/proposals, however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement which, if received by the response date, shall be considered by the Agency. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within discretion of the Government.
