Police Inventory Management Software System
The Police Department (PD) currently uses disparate systems and differing levels of data collection to
perform the management of assets, including ordering, receiving, storing, distributing, maintaining, disposal and tracking. PD also has a manual data entry process where the officer accesses the storage area, retrieves the items they need and records the items in a notebook. The City would like to improve this process. The requested Inventory Management System will support the PDs efforts to streamline the asset management process and improve overall efficiency to ensure that PD officers have timely access to the equipment necessary to carry out
their responsibilities. Because of the nature of the functions these assets support, they are an essential part of each bureaus operations and are, in many cases, mission critical.
