1.  NOTICE:  This is not a solicitation but rather a Request for Information (RFI) to determine potential sources for information and planning purposes only.


1.1  The purpose of this RFI is to conduct market research to determine if responsible sources exist, to assist in determining if this effort can be competitive and/or a total Small Business Set-Aside.  The proposed North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 332813.   The Government will use this information to determine the best acquisition strategy for this procurement.  The Government is interested in all small businesses to include 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Hubzone, and Women-Owned small business concerns.  The government requests that interested parties respond to this notice if applicable and identify your small business status to the identified NAICS code.  Additionally, please provide any anticipated teaming arrangements, along with a description of similar services offered to the Government and to commercial customers for the past three years.  Any responses involving teaming agreements should delineate between the work that will be accomplished by the prime and the work accomplished by the teaming partners. 


2.  Program Details:


This effort is in support of the 530 Secondary Power Systems Squadron located at Hill AFB, UT for a single contractor to perform the following:
Chrome plating IAW processes and procedures in AMS 2460, AMS 2406, AMS QQ-C-320 Chromium Plating in addition to the Chrome plating other processes may be used such as ASTM E 1444 Magnetic Particle Inspection, ASTM E 1417 Liquid Penetrant Inspection, MIL-STD-871 Solution 6 Electro-Chemical Stripping, AMS2649 Etch Inspection, AMS 2759/9 Hydrogen Embrittlement Relief, AMS S 13165 Shot Peening of Metal Parts, AMS 2460 Shot Peening and other processes that relate to Chrome Plating. 
The information in this notice is based on the best and most current information available to date.  This information is subject to change and is not binding to the Government.  Updated information will be provided in future announcements and posted electronically on the Federal Business opportunities homepage at www.fbo.gov. 


The Government shall not reimburse the costs of preparing responses to this request for information.  The successful contractor shall be required to interact with USAF depot level repair shops, supply system, item managers and equipment specialist to get necessary information to assure repairs, supply exchanges and latest maintenance is accomplished. A draft Product Description and Specifications is attached.


 

The Government requests interested parties to submit a brief statement of current capability to provide this part and a letter of interest. The Government will use this information to determine the best acquisition strategy for this procurement.  The Government is interested in all small businesses to include 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Hub-zone, and Women-Owned small business concerns. Interested and qualified sources should provide the following information:  (1) company name, point of contact, e-mail address, telephone and fax numbers, type of business and size; (2) a list of your most recent and relevant DoD or commercial contracts (not to exceed five) to include brief description, names, POCs, phone numbers, value & type of contract, and period of performance; and (3) information about your company and why you think you can perform this service.  (4) Include in your submission responses to the questionnaire. Please limit your submissions to ten pages.
