Metro is seeking proposals for a pilot collection and processing program of source separated food scraps from large food producers such as restaurants, food processing plants, farmer’s markets, grocery stores, cafeterias, hotels, schools and hospitals within Nashville and Davidson County. Collection of food waste for composting must occur at a minimum once per week and any proposed food composting operation must be done in a manner that meets all local, state and federal regulations.
