Picture Rocks and Desert Winds Transportation Enhancement Project
The project is located approximately ten miles west of Tucson, Arizona in Avra Valley in unincorporated Pima County within Sections 8 & 9, Township 13 South, Range 11 East Gila and Salt River Meridian. The project will involve the construction of sidewalks, paved shoulders, shade landscaping and other safety enhancements along the access roads to Desert Winds Elementary and Picture Rocks Intermediate schools, and the Picture Rocks Community Center. The plan includes adding paved shoulders to Rudasill Road from Calvin Road, restriping Sanders Road from Rudasill Road to Sunset Drive to add shoulder width, adding sidewalks along the north side of Rudasill Road from Calvin Road to Chaparral Road, and along the south side from the existing sidewalk at the west edge of the school property to Chaparral. The project also consists of utility adjustments and signing and pavement marking. Construction Survey and Layout shall be provided by the Contractor. Davis-Bacon Prevailing Wages apply.
Estimated cost for the project is between $800,000.00 and $1,000,000.00. The project shall be complete and in place within 65 working days from Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages for late delivery will be assessed per Pima County Standard Specification Section 108-9. Award of Contract by the County Board of Supervisors is anticipated 10/05/2010; Notice to Proceed to Contractor is anticipated 10/22/2010.
