The Veterans Home is a licensed 120-bed long term care facility, providing care to Delaware veterans. It includes a 30-bed Dementia Unit, and two 45-bed ICF/SNF Units. The facility also has a 30-bed unoccupied/unlicensed unit with the potential for future opening based on funding. The Home began admitting veterans in the spring of 2007. The Home shall have on staff 2 Advance Practice Nurses (APN).
The Veterans Home is seeking the services for a Medical Director.
Minimum Qualifications The Medical Director shall:
1) be board certified in internal medicine, geriatrics, or family medicine,
2) have experience in medical services in a Veterans Home setting, long term care facility, or similar setting,
3) have knowledge of VA, Medicaid and Medicare regulations and guidelines,
4) possess a license to practice medicine in the State of Delaware for the term of the contract,
5) meet federal and state eligibility requirements to participate in VA, Medicaid and Medicare,
6) possess or obtain with one year from commencement of contract, certification as a Medical Director.
