Photogrammetric Mapping Services/GIS Database Compilation
The County Department of Procurement is requesting information from firms experienced in aerial photography, analytical aerotriangulation, photogrammetric mapping, digital orthophoto services, and the creation of digital spatial databases, for a partial re-mapping of the County. This mapping project is expected to be phased over a period of two years, and is intended to provide new county-wide color orthophotography, LIDAR, and selectively update existing GIS Planimetric and Topographic databases in areas where significant development activity has occurred since the last full-county mapping, conducted in 2007.
The extent of the project will include the land area of Harford County, and the three municipalities of Bel Air, Aberdeen, and Havre de Grace, roughly 380 square miles. Not included in this project are the areas of Aberdeen Proving Ground, or the Edgewood Area of Aberdeen Proving Ground.
The County estimates that 25% of existing planimetric and topographic features may require update. The County will supply mapping of known development activity to be updated but additionally expects the vendor to employ change detection techniques to identify and recommend potential update areas.
