Phadia Reagents for the RAST Allergy Testing System
The Pacific Regional Contracting Office at Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC), Hawaii intends to award a sole source contract to Phadia USA Inc. for reagent testing supplies. Only the Phadia reagents are compatible with the established testing method and therefore are the only reagent which can meet the Government's need. The Phadia reagents are the only supplies that can be used with the TAMC's RAST Allergy Testing System. The statutory authority permitting this award without providing for full and open competition is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as cited in FAR 6.302-1(a) which authorizes the government to award contracts when there is only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
