DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS (VA)
DENVER ACQUISITION & LOGISTICS CENTER (DALC)
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) VA791-17-N-0191
SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS

INTRODUCTION / BACKGROUND

The Veterans Administration (VA) Denver Logistic and Acquisitions Center (DALC) administer holistic supply chain management for the VA National Hearing Aid and VA Telehealth Programs. Commodities managed include worldwide distribution of hearing aids, hearing aid accessories, cochlear implants, assistive devices, batteries, prosthetic socks, orthotic soft goods, aids for the visually impaired, and VA telehealth messaging hubs and peripherals. Peripherals include items such as floor scales, pedometers, blood pressure monitors, and pulse oximeters. Veterans may order many items directly from the DALC and have them shipped to their homes, reducing unnecessary trips to medical facilities and enhancing efficiency of clinical staff. Some items are ordered by clinicians to be shipped to the clinic to be issued to the Veteran.

This particular requirement will fulfill a need for commodities needed to effectively process the orders received at the DALC in support of the VA Telehealth Program. The Contractor shall provide pedometers to the DALC that will be sent directly to Veterans.

SCOPE

This is a Sources Sought Announcement seeking information as to the availability of Trade Agreement Act (TAA) compliant products for distribution by the Department of Veterans Affairs, (VA) Denver Acquisition & Logistics Center (DALC). The products VA is seeking to procure are pedometers (stand alone and Bluetooth capable). The item listed is to be used by Veteran patients enrolled in the VA TeleHealth Program. VA is researching the availability of TAA compliant products from All Business Concerns.
The DALC is requesting information regarding whether any business concern is able to provide the above mentioned products that are compliant with the TAA. Products that qualify as compliant with TAA shall meet the requirements as defined in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). Please see FAR Subpart 25.4 Trade Agreements.
The DALC seeks to determine if any businesses can provide TAA compliant products and if the listed products are at a reasonable price. This is not a request for quotes and respondents need not provide pricing information. This requirement is assigned a NAICS code of 339112, Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing.
The scope of this requirement is to provide the DALC with stand-alone (non-Bluetooth) and Bluetooth pedometers. Multiple CLINs may be awarded for a future solicitation. Possible CLINs would include stand-alone (non-Bluetooth) and Bluetooth versions.
