Pedestrian Bridge Design
This Project generally involves professional design engineering and related services in connection with
the construction of a bicycle/pedestrian bridge across I-25 at The Colorado Center development on the
south side and at the intersection of Bellaire St. and Jewell Ave. on the north side. The Citys federal
funding application process for this project stressed the need for pedestrian/bicycle connectivity over I-25
through the Colorado Center to the Colorado Station on the Regional Transportation Districts Southeast
Light Rail Transit Corridor. Additionally, the Denver Bicycle Master Plan Update (2001) identified
connectivity across I-25 at this location as a major missing link in the bicycle system. This connection
helps the City realize its goal of providing an aesthetically pleasing bridge that is friendly to both
bicyclists and pedestrians and provides the connectivity mentioned above.
