PROCUREMENT OF GBU-10, 12 and 16 LASER GUIDED BOMB (LGB)

1. NOTICE: This is not a solicitation but rather a Sources Sought Synopsis to determine potential sources for information and planning purposes only.

1.1 The purpose of this Sources Sought is to conduct market research to determine if responsible sources exist, to assist in determining if this effort can be competitive and/or a total Small Business Set-Aside. The proposed North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 332993 which has a corresponding Size standard of 1,500. The Government will use this information to determine the best acquisition strategy for this procurement. The Government is interested in all small businesses to include 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran Owned, Hubzone, and Women-Owned small business concerns. The government requests that interested parties respond to this notice if applicable and identify your small business status to
the identified NAICS code. Additionally, please provide any anticipated teaming arrangements, along with a description of similar services offered to the Government and to commercial customers for the past three years. Any responses involving teaming agreements should delineate between the work that will be accomplished by the prime and the work accomplished by the teaming partners.

2. The USAF is seeking potential contractors to support a Paveway II, GBU-10, GBU-12 and GBU-16 procurement. Each series of GBU uses the MAU-169/MAU-209 Computer Control Group (CCG). The GBU-10 (2000lb) uses the MXU-651 Air Foil Group (AFG), the GBU-12 (500lb) uses the MXU-650 AFG and the GBU-16 (1000lb) uses the MXU-667 AFG. Contractors also need to be able to provide trainers, e.g. MAU-169L(D-1)/B, for this procurement. The two components, CCG and AFG, attach to general purpose or special purpose bombs. LGB components detect a laser-illuminated target and alter the flight path of the weapon. The CCG guides the weapon to the target while the AFG provides lift and stability during flight.

3. Requirement restricted to qualified source(s). All non-qualified vendors that submit a proposal in support of this requirement must comply with the qualification requirements found in clause 52.209-1, and the source qualification statement (available upon request), in order to be considered for award. Award will not be delayed to qualify new sources.

4. No costs will be paid for any charges incurred in responding to this synopsis.

5. The performance specification and interface control drawings can be provided upon request.
