This is PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE The US Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN, hereinafter referred to as MVAHCS located at One Veterans Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55417. The NAICS code assigned to this procurement will be 621511 with a size standard of $32.5 million. The VA will award a Single Award, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity, commercial services contract. Contract use will be limited to Minneapolis VA Health Care System only. The solicitation will contain requirements for a 12 month base year with one (1) 12 month option to renew. Service will begin on March 27, 2018 through March 26, 2019 for the base year. The solicitation is scheduled to be issued on February 8, 2018 and will be issued via FedBizOpps Electronic Posting System at http://www.fedbizopps.gov.
The Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Services at the VA Minneapolis, Minnesota, requires the services of a contractor to provide specialized specific complex case diagnostic testing and consult services not provided by the Minneapolis VAMC.
Testing needs may consist of, but are not limited to, serological and in situ hybridization-based tests for infectious disease; quantitative tissue analysis for copper and iron; specialized neurological testing; screening for hereditary disorders such as hereditary non-polyposis colon carcinoma syndrome; hemoglobin electrophoresis; determination of erythrocyte, CSF, and serum enzyme levels; and consultation on complex anatomic pathology cases, including ophthalmologic, pulmonary and urologic pathology.
These services require a comprehensive academic medical center with extensive across a wide range of surgical pathology disciplines and organ systems. The pathology department must include nationally recognized experts in a variety of areas of anatomic pathology, such as urologic, gastrointestinal, pulmonary, and soft tissue/ orthopedic pathology. In addition, the medical center must include a division or subdivision of ophthalmologic pathology, with specialized ophthalmologic pathologists.
