The City is intending to obtain the services of an engineering firm to provide rectification of mapping,
for use in the implementation of a GIS system.

The city has been developing a long term plan for the implementation of a geographic information
system ("GIS"); staff from the following departments have committed resources to the completion of
the project: MIS, Assessor, Engineering, Land Use, Water, Water Pollution Control, Police and Fire.
Licensing for ArcView, ArcGIS and ArcWeb as published by ESRI have been purchased by the City.

In anticipation of GIS implementation, the City has migrated certain segments of its systems to GIS-
capable applicants with parcel-specific data (e.g. Assessors, Police).

The City has obtained ortho photos from the State of Connecticut; it has additionally planned the
purchase of baseline ortho photos with vectors from AT & T. These files would be made available to
the selected firm, in addition to the existing Assessor's map (not electronic) and the existing Public
Works map (electronic format but missing updates to the Assessor's map). The Central Connecticut
Regional Planning Authority ("CCRPA") is assumed to have maps of Bristol in its possession,
specifically as they relate to the extension of the Route 72 corridor extension. Additionally, the Parks
Department obtained ortho photos of its major properties in 2005, via flyovers done by Golden Aerial
Survey.
