SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT: Paper Cutter

THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE AND SHOULD NOT BE CONSTRUED AS A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. THE SUBMISSION OF THIS INFORMATION IS FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY. IT IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO PROCURE ANY SERVICES, NOR IS IT THE INTENT OF THE ARMY CONTRACTING COMMAND- NEW JERSEY TO AWARD A CONTRACT ON THE BASIS OF THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) OR OTHERWISE PAY FOR THE INFORMATION SOUGHT.


1. CONTRACT INFORMATION: ACC- NJ is seeking preliminary marketing information, from capable and reliable sources to gain knowledge of potential qualified small business sources capable of performing all requirements of the below item. This is a single requirement. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) classified for this effort is 33318.


The ACC-NJ anticipates releasing a solicitation announcement, to be published in the Federal Business Opportunities (www.fbo.gov), on or about 15 November 2016. The solicitation will consist of a FIRM-FIXED-PRICE contract for a period of performance of: 30 day ARO.


2. PROJECT SCOPE: Paper Cutter


Functional/Technical:
Light beam/optical cutting line
Precision: at least accurate to 1/10 mm or 1/100"
Cutting width: at least 20"
Cutting height/depth: at least 3 "
Speed: at least 20 cuts/min
Safety: two-handed operation and appropriate safeguards
Adjustable clamp pressure


Dimensions:
Must be able to fit through a 34-3/4" doorway


Power/Electrical:
Powered via a standard wall outlet


Delivery:
Delivered to the room (i.e., delivery to loading dock or address is insufficient)
Breakdown and reassembly (if breakdown is required for delivery to room)
Installation


Training:
Brief instruction (i.e., up to 2 hours) on operation and maintenance


Maintenance and Support Requirements (for 1st year):
No fewer than 4 scheduled maintenance inspections per year
Replacement parts and labor
No limit on responses to Government request for emergency service/support
Respond to Government request for service/support within 24 hours of contact


3. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS: All interested firms shall submit a Capability Statement and email to Theresa.m.eckstein.civ@mail.mil. Submission shall be received by 11:30 AM, Eastern Standard Time, 31 October 2016 and shall not exceed four (4) one-sided, 8-1/2 x 11 pages. This request for information is only for market research purposes. This RFI does not constitute a request for proposal nor does it restrict the Government as to the ultimate acquisition approach. The Government will not reimburse respondents for any costs incurred in preparation of response to this notice. All data received in response to this RFI marked or designated as corporate or proprietary will be fully protected from release outside the U.S. Government. No hard-copy or facsimile submissions will be accepted. Cover letters and extraneous materials (brochures, etc) will be considered. Interested offeror's shall address this requirement through this RFI in written format via email to theresa.m.eckstein.civ@mail.mil. Calls and fax transmittals in response to this RFI will NOT be accepted.
