Background:
The Pantex Plant, located 17 mIles northeast of Amarillo, Texas, is charged with securing America by providing the nation's nuclear deterrent. The facility is managed and operated by Consolidated Nuclear Security, LLC (CNS) for the United States Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA). The Pantex Plant supports four core missions: 1) National Security, 2) Nuclear Explosive Operations, 3) Nuclear Material Operations, and 4) High Explosive Operations. Daily operations involve work with nuclear weapons stockpile stewardship, plutonium pit storage, high explosives work, engineering, safety, security, facilities management, quality, environmental protection, and general administration. For purposes of achieving core mission objectives and in managing the Pantex Plant, CNS relies heavily on the usage of outside subcontractors and suppliers to provide necessary support services to Plant operations.

Introduction:
Consolidated Nuclear Security, LLC (CNS)is seeking ASME NQA-1 2008/2009 qualified companies for upgrading the UPS and associated HVAC and footprint modifications to a hardened facility at Pantex.

Project Requirements:
The design for the modifications to a hardened facility, and associated diesel generator building (also hardened) is nearing completion. This hardened building houses a data center and associated support systems that include a UPS and HVAC system. An emergency diesel generator that supports facility operations is housed in an annex (also hardened). This project will modify the facility footprint, replace the existing UPS with a higher capacity UPS, replace the current HVAC system including CRAC units for the data center that have reached the end of their design life. The contractor will also replace the existing diesel generator with an appropriately sized unit within the existing building. The contractor will install the replacement systems in accordance with the design, complete with all equipment as specified for a functional system that provides the UPS capacity increase along with HVAC system upgrades within the modified hardened footprint.

The estimated cost range for this project is $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00.

The project is designated as an NQA-I. project.
