The USDA has requirement for laboratory equipment, reagents and maintenance agreements from Pacific Biosciences of Californai (see the attached lists). This is a sources sought announcement from the USDA for information and planning purposes only. This is not a solcitation, nor is it an announccment of a forthcoming solicitation. The purpose of theis sources sought announcement is to identify manufacturers and distributors that offer the full range of required equipment, reagents and maintenance agreements, as shown the two attached product lists.  Responses to this notification will help to determine the acquisition strategy for any future solicitation.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agriculture Research Service (ARS) is considering sole source BPA for a base year and for option years, up to $800,000 per year, for products, reagents and maintenance agreements from Pacific Biosciences of California.

As permitted by FAR Part 10, this is a market research tool being utilized for informational and planning purposes. Your responses will assist the Government in the development of its acquisition strategy for a possible Request For Proposal (RFP), to be issued at a later date, and in determining whether any type of business set-aside can provide the abovementioned products and services.


This notice shall not be construed as a RFP or as any commitment or obligation on the part of the Government to issue a solicitation. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this request, so proposals will not be considered. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow-up information requests.


SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS: Responses via email are due 5:00 pm PST on April 10, 2017 to louise.snitz@ars.usda.gov and shall provide product and services lists and prices with previous customers' current contact and contract information.
