P-06-15 Transportation and Processing of Landfill Recyclables

Scope of Work The Contractor(s) shall supply all labour, equipment, material, fuels, licenses, permits, insurance, safety precautions, security and all things necessary to perform the Work of the Contract, including the transportation of the material off site. The materials requiring diversion include scrap metal, gypsum wallboard, or drywall, and commingled construction and demolition wastes. The table below outlines the yearly volume of material, by facility, for 2014. Material PCCWMF MRF Drywall 600 tonnes Not Applicable Scrap metal 230 tonnes 100 tonnes Construction & Demolition Material 3,900 tonnes Not Applicable Volumes and tonnages are anticipated to be similar for the duration of the Contract, however are subject to fluctuation due to economy and markets. The City makes no guarantee on the volume. Volumes are also subject to variation throughout the year. The material storage bins for recyclables are segregated at both the PWMF and the MRF, and the deposit of contaminants is not permitted. It is anticipated, however, that some contaminants should be expected and that the Contractor will not be compensated extra to remove contaminants, nor shall the City be held responsible for any damages that may result due to contaminants.
