SLAC seeks vendors that can provide the following:

1 Khz repetition rate laser with a foot print that is smaller than 4¹ x 5¹. The laser must produce ~30 fs pulses, > 6 mJ, ~ 11 mm FWHM beam size, 800 nm center wavelength, and it must be able to work in a dynamic x-ray hutch environment with mechanical vibrations and few degree Fahrenheit temperature swings. The pulse repetition rate must be variable down to 120 Hz. The oscillator in the laser system must be compatible with the LCLS timing synchronization system and have a jitter to the SLAC RF lock better than 60 fs RMS. This benchmark has only been demonstrated with the Coherent Vitara laser oscillators. We also must be able to get a small percentage of the oscillator beam and some of the amplifier light out of the box for our timing and diagnostic systems. 90 percent of the light will be sent to the main compressor and a fraction of the uncompressed light (~10 %) will be sent out of the box to an external compressor. The chiller for the amplifier pump laser must be water cooled.

THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE. VENDORS INTERESTED IN BEING CONSIDERED AS A POTENTIAL SOURCE SHOULD IDENTIFY THEMSELVES AS AN "INTERESTED PARTY" VIA THE FBO PORTAL. DO NOT CONTACT THE SUBCONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR.
