PROSTHETICS (121) EYEGLASSES AND OPTICAL
Network Contracting Office (NCO) 8 intends to release Solicitation VA248-14-R-1274 for eyeglasses on behalf of Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 8. This solicitation will require contractor to furnish prescription eyeglasses to beneficiaries on the VISN 8 VA Healthcare systems. Offers must be able to meet the commercial ANSI standards for eye glasses. VISN 8 includes (7) VA Healthcare Systems (Bay Pines VAHCS, Orlando VAMC, Gainesville VAHCS, Tampa VAMC, Miami VAMC, West Palm VAMC and San Juan PR VAHCS). In addition, service will also be needed at Community Based Outpatient Clinics that provide optical services. VISN 8 currently operates fifteen (15) associated Outpatient Clinics located throughout the state of Florida and Puerto Rico. Award from this solicitation will be set-aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) contractors. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this procurement is 339115, Ophthalmic Goods manufacturing; size standard in number of employees is 500. This will be a Firm Fixed Price, Indefinite Delivery, and Indefinite Quantity Contract with a base period of (1) year plus four (4) one year option periods to be exercised at the discretion of the Government. The government anticipates awarding a single award, but reserves the right to award multiple awards if determined in the best interest of the government.
