Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) a National Laboratory and Federally Funded Research and Development Center RDC) operated by The Trustees of Princeton University, a US Department of Energy Prime Contractor wishes to solicit proposals in response to Request for Proposal (RFP) 19-070C for removal and replacement of existing built-up roofs and associated components at D-Site at Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory, 100 Stellarator Road, James Forrestal Campus, US Route 1 North, Princeton, NJ. The scope of work includes the following:

1. Remove Existing Roofing System
2. Remove Three Abandoned Rooftop Air Handling Units
3. Coordinate Existing Asbestos Roofing Removal (Asbestos Removal Performed by PPPL)
4. Install New EPDM Roofing System
5. Replace Existing Service Ladders
6. Install New Continuous Guardrails
7. Provide New Portable Fall Protection Anchors


The magnitude of this procurement is between $4 million and $6 million inclusive of option items. Bid, Performance and Payment Bonds will be required (see RFP for specific bond requirements).


The performance period of the project is 420 calendar days after date of award.


This procurement is unrestricted, full and open. The applicable NAICS Code is 238160, Roofing Contractors.


PPPL intends to award a firm fixed-price subcontract to the offeror submitting the lowest priced, technically acceptable proposal.

A Mandatory Pre-Proposal Conference/Site Visit will be held at 9:30 AM EST, Wednesday, 22 May 2019. Attendance is pre-requisite for proposal submission. Proposals are due to PPPL by 4:00 PM EST, Friday, 7 June 2019.


This announcement shall not commit PPPL to issue a subcontract for this effort, or to pay any costs incurred by offerors in the preparation and submittal of proposals in response to this RFP.
