PL 84-99 North San Joaquin Levee Repair Site 0046-11

High water levels in early 2017 damaged levees throughout California's Central Valley. The Corps of Engineers will be repairing damages at several of these locations in 2020. One of these sites is located along Bear Creek approximately 6 miles east of Lodi, California, Site 0046-11. The work will require clearing, stripping and grubbing, the removal of eroded or slumped soil, and placement of 200 feet of riprap erosion protection (18-inch +/- quarry stone) along the levee toe as well as placement of a quarry stone blanket across the base of the creek channel. When repairs are complete portions of the site may be reseeded, any damage to haul routes will be repaired, and the surface material of the levee crown will be reestablished, if needed. Depending on the location and configuration of the site, the materials may be transported to the site and work performed from land or waterside work may be required. Depending on creek water levels some dewatering of the channel may be necessary to allow for quarry stone blanket placement. The period of performance is 204 days.
