PAVEMENT REHABILITATION 2010 PHASE 1 OLD RIVER RD FROM MING AVE TO STOCKDALE HWY
The work to be performed consists, in general, of full depth pavement reconstruction on Old River Road from Ming Avenue to Stockdale Highway. Also, included in this work is roadway excavation, curb & gutter reconstruction, access ramp modifications to meet current ADA standards, pavement markings, striping, traffic signal detector loops and adjustment of manholes and monuments.
Project Details: NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Bakersfield invites, and will receive, sealed proposals for the following projects: Pavement Rehabilitation 2010 Phase 1: Old River Road from Ming Ave to Stockdale Hwy PROJECT INFORMATION: The work to be performed consists, in general, of full depth pavement reconstruction of the existing roadway structural section on Old River Road from Ming Avenue to Stockdale Highway. Also included in this project is roadway excavation, curb & gutter reconstruction, access ramp modifications to meet current ADA standards, striping, pavement markings, traffic detector loops, adjustment of manholes and monuments. This project is federally funded through the Regional Surface Transportation Program (RSTP). Contractors on this project will be required to pay federal prevailing wage rates. This project falls within the Citys Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program. To facilitate communications between the general contractors, subcontractors and material suppliers, the City is hosting a pre-bid meeting on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 9:00 AM in the City Hall South Council Chambers located at 1501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California. This meeting is to inform bidders of project requirements and subcontractors of subcontracting and material supply opportunities. Attendance at this meeting is mandatory for general contractors who are bidding the project; general contractors who fail to attend the pre-bid meeting will be disqualified from the bidding process. Interested sub-contractors and material suppliers are strongly encouraged to attend the pre-bid meeting. ENGINEERS ESTIMATE: $2,170,000 BID DUE DATE: Bids will be received on June 9, 2010 at the time and location specified in the issued bid documents. BID DOCUMENTS: No bid will be received unless it is made on a bid form furnished by the City. Plans and specifications may be downloaded from our website for free to registered suppliers/vendors. FINAL BIDDERS LIST: The City of Bakersfield has previously issued a list of contractors approved to submit bids for this project. This list was determined by the City's review of Responsibility Statement and Questionnaires submitted by interested contractors. The City will only open bids submitted by contractors who were approved by the City to be on the Final Bidders List for the 2009/2010 Pavement Rehabilitation Projects. Bids submitted by contractors who are not approved to be on the Final Bidders List will not be opened.
